MALA MAKING CLASS

MALA MAKING CLASS

Mala Making Workshop to bring balance to our lives during the Pitta season.

About this Event

While we typically think of the seasons as Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, the practice of Ayurveda divides the year according to the most prevalent dosha during each period; Kapha, Vata, or Pitta.

Pitta season is coming up; Fire and Summer constitute the Pitta dosha. Dominated by a hot and sharp nature, Pitta is in need of cooling and calming, and no matter what your dosha type is, you will be influenced by Pitta’s prevailing influence at this time of year.

We invite you to make a mala that helps you tune-in and find balance for Pitta season; seeking a sense of soothing and calm. The beautiful Pitta-inspired stones we will incorporate into this workshop are: Moss Agate, Natural Pearl, Opal, Emerald, Amethyst, Aquamarine, and Lapis Lazuli.

All the materials and instruction will be provided.

You will choose 3 sets of beads for your mala necklace and a guru bead. The stone meanings will be provided, and with Oracle cards, we will all set the mala intentions.

Be engaged throughout with inspiring conversation and community.

The end result will be a gorgeous completed mala.

“It offers people a wearable reflection of something in their own journey, so in that way the mala really becomes whatever the wearer intends for it,” - Logan Milliken

Pre-registration is required for this event.

Investment: $78

LOVE YOUR SKIN DIY Workshop

LOVE YOUR SKIN DIY Workshop

Please join us, coupled or uncoupled, for a workshop where you will make a DIY body oil or Abyanga oil. The oil has been created using a special blend of herbs, sesame and coconut oil from and you will get to scent it yourself, a 2oz bottle of oil will be available for $6. Lite snacks will be provided.

There is no greater expression of self-love than lovingly anointing ourselves from head to toe with warm oil—this practice is called Abyanga. The Sanskrit word Sneha can be translated as both “oil” and “love.” It is believed that the effects of Abhyanga are similar to those received when one is saturated with love. Like the experience of being loved, Abhyanga can give a deep feeling of stability and warmth.

A daily Abyanga practice restores the balance of the doshas and enhances well-being and longevity. Regular Abyanga is especially grounding and relaxing for Vata dosha imbalances, but everyone can benefit from this practice.

Womens Clothing Swap for Charity!

In need of a closet pick me up but don’t want to spend too much money during the holiday season?

Bring all your gently worn coats, scarves, apparel, shoes, handbags and accessories to a CLOTHING SWAP for charity. All of the items are fair game, so you can donate clothes while snagging some new stuff to breathe new life into your closet. Remember the old saying that someone’s trash is another person’s treasure? While you might be tired of your cherry red pumps or black boots, but they might be just what one of your friends have been looking for. All items must be clean, quality clothes that are in good shape – no broken zippers or missing buttons, please.

You do not have to bring clothes to participate, but the more participation, the more clothes we can try on and rehome. We are asking for a suggested donation of $15 per stuffed bagful of clothes or accessories that you pick up, if you brought clothes to swap, and $25 if you did not bring clothes but want to shop. All proceeds raised and left over items will go to the to the Home of the Sparrow Organization in Chester County. This organization helps get mothers and single moms who are struggling back on their feet.

Wine and snacks will be provided, so grab your friend and come out to trade and shop!

Please bring cash for the suggested donations that will take at the door.

If you are swapping with us, we ask that you arrive at 6:30 or contact Heather Ciprani at Heather@flowerandbonesupply.com, if you need to arrange for your clothes to be picked up prior to your attendace, so they can be available for the party.
